What is it all about?

  The Day of Prayer for United States Farmers is a nationwide, Christian event. Top priority is given to praying for lost farmers, their families and their employees to be saved. We believe in John 14:6:
 
  .....” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”.....

Farmers have all the same challenges in life that everyone else has, plus a few more: drought, floods, heat, cold, winds, diseases, storms, marketing strategies, just to name a few! Many farmers know how dependant we are on God to provide favorable conditions for our crops. It is a miracle to me to see a large plant come from a tiny seed, and how roots pull nutrients from the soil.
Farmers have to do their part with hard work and a lot of thought and planning to succeed. Yet without Almighty God’s help in the equation, the result will be failure, despite our best efforts. Farmers must have God’s aid and Mercy to produce food, fibre, wood, etc., from a cursed ground. Genesis 3:17-19 reads:

......cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; “in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground..........”.

This is God speaking to Adam after he (Adam) and Eve had disobeyed by eating the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3:6). Anyone that has ever tried to grow plants quickly experience the cursed ground, thorns, thistles and sweat mention in Genesis 3:17-19.

This is why we ask for prayer for our farmers. Farmers must consistently produce for mankind to survive. So please, not only pray for our Nation’s farmers every second Sunday of March each year, but also pray through the year until Jesus returns.
